There is no end to the good you can do.....

There is no end to the good you can do.....

Mark Fay was a husband, father, mentor and a great friend to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. The retired Elizabeth Arden executive saw the big picture, championing to feed the hungry and working to envision a hunger free community.

Mark and his wife, Mary Ann moved to Tucson in 1992 to enjoy their early retirement. This young retired couple quickly became integrated in their community and charity work became part of their lives. Mark volunteered at the Community Food Bank since 1999, virtually in every department. This devoted volunteer scanned barcodes, monitored agencies served as a board member and ultimately served as President to Board of Directors.

Mark and Mary Anne enjoyed a life of family, friends and extensive travel. Their travel took them all over the world including China and Belize just to mention a few. They also had the good fortune to "Cruise the World" , Mark was passionate about the Community Food Bank. To his good friends, Eileen and Bob Thompson, he said "you know, we appreciate your canned food donations. However, did you know we can do a lot more if you gave the money directly to the Food Bank? Our purchasing power is great!"

Mark passed away on January 14, 2013. Mark was proud of his work at the Food Bank. And we are proud to have been part of Mark's and Mary Anne's life for such a long time. In his honor, we have remained our meeting room to the "Mark Fay Committee Room", signifying the importance of Mark's impact on our organization.

At the dedication ceremony, Mary Ann, his wife of 25 years said " Besides his children and myself, the only other thing Mark loved as much was the Community Food Bank. " Mark's legacy will live on.
